Default Futral Motorsports 408ci SuperStroker Road Trip Results!!

The car drove home like a champ.. On a 800 mile trip I filled up 2.5 times and I still have a half tank of gas left. I thought I would have burned more gas, but the gas mileage is very close to my old 346ci setup. My best guess is it is between 20 to 28mpg highway on avg depending on my foot and how flat the highway I am traveling on.

I now see why people say go big. I have not pushed her yet, but so far I cant find any weakness out of this motor. I did notice in 5th in 6th gear you will get a little bucking if you let off the gas below 1800rpms. I use to have 4.10's so I was always in 5th and 6th. I have to change that driving habit with my 3.73's. The car always wants to go forward.

I also see why Futral Motorsports likes to keep the bore more than the stroke. The car behaves just like a small cam 346ci just putting around town, but as soon as you give it a little gas you realize this is NO 346ci. Allan and I were doing some last minute stuff when I was in Walker, Louisiana and the car just pulls so hard to 6krpm. My old 346ci was by no means a slouch, but my new setup does not feel labored at all.

Another thing is I do not notice any weight issues with the iron block. I did do a k-member and Allan relocated the battery, but the car handles just like it did with the Alum. I did hit some twisties on the way getting back into my hood.

I would like to again thank Candy, Allan and the rest of Futral Motorsports for making my SuperStroker experience a wonderful one. Now time for some NEW nittos..

It is a dream come true. Futral Motorsports fulfill dreams. I just took her around the block. I backed off the timing by 4 degrees because Florida is hotter. Allan has it set to 28 degree's at WOT. it is 85 degree's out right now and when it hits 90 plus I will take her for another spin to see if I get any KR. I will keep you guys posted. So far this car is a BEAST. My neighbors are like WOW!! It's back..

I totally agree with your reasoning about going "big".

Those with H/C high power setups (that peak very high) that snub big cube #s have NO clue what bigger cubes with an LS1 feel like at all RPMs. There is just no comparison.

When you have over 480 lb/ft of torque under 3500 RPM you realize no 346 setup is of any comparison in street manners, etc. Lots of cubes = much more fun daily driver

Man this setup never ceases to amaze me.. So docile when you are not on it. Perfect street setup. Still no KR in the hot florida weather..

I saw it today guys and it is definatly a street monstor, I'd hate to be the an unsupecting victim at a light. Vince you are gonna mess so many people up with that car. especially with the dual duals on it. Alot of people probably won't realize just how modded you are

Its nice to see the SS around again and Futral built one hell of a motor for you. Grats again on the setup.
