Anybody know the NHRA rules for cars running under 9.99?
Just out of curiousity what are the rule changes after 11.99. I have a 6 pt roll bar that I'm almost positive has to be turned into a cage. I also think you have to have an NHRA license. What is required in getting that? I think if you run over 150mph you need a chute which I don't intend to do n/a possibly on nitrous if the setup runs better than expected Just trying to get an idea what else is needed for me to stay on the better tracks

You also need the multi layer firesuit. Not the single layer and you need the pants also. chute is required at 150. 8 pt NHRA CERTIFIED cage, NHRA license, gloves are also required (even though most people don't wear them). I think this covers most of it.

Anybody in the Houston area know how strict HRP is on these rules? Can I get by with my 6 pt or will I have to add the other bars and get all the other stuff?
Thanks

2 more things.
Cars running between 7.50 (*4.50) and 9.99 (*6.39) must have chassis inspected every three-years by the ASN and have a serialised sticker affixed to cage before participation. Must conform to specs for body style used, as listed in General Regulations 4.11, 10.6.
BATTERY MASTER CUTOFF Mandatory on any car with a battery running 9.99 (*6.39) or quicker, or any car exceeding 135 mph (217.2 km/h) or on any car where the battery is relocated into the trunk area. See General Regulations 8.4.
* 1/8th mile times

Re: Anybody know the NHRA rules for cars running under 9.99?
Thanks for the info guys. I think I'm going to by a kit to convert an 8 pt bar into a 10 pt cage and just make an 8 pt cage by leaving the 2 down bars off the cross brace on the main hoop off. I guess I"ll just have to get as much as I can done and then test my local track to see what I can get by with.
