Default TH400 Trans Brake Problem........

What would cause this.....

Hitting the brake button, flooring it, it flashes to my stall area 4K, then drops to 2300ish and stays there........it won't stay up and stay loaded?

Any idea what would cause this?

The only way I can launch it hard is by flashing it real quick and letting go of the button......

I concur, it has to be a torque converter problem. Pull it and get it checked.

I think it might for sure be the converter, tonight while driving my crusing temps were at 210, they are usually around 150-160......it has to be the converter slipping

I would try TCI or Yank as well, seems their converters work well.
Just a idea if you dont mind buying from a non sponsor, call Neil Chance and Coan.
I am in the market for a new converter and they have both been really helpful.
Coan has the better C/S.

I'm almost sure it's a conv. problem. We had trans. brake problems on our '65 Nova. The solenoid went dead and we had to footbrake. That one was a TCI. Problems can arise from even good parts. That's the lesson I learned there. Good luck!!!!

Default convertor

I agree on the convertor, would not run it anymore though could already be on your way to a new trans if there are metal shavings it is through the entire trans ,including the cooler, wiped out a brand new c6 from a converter in my mud truck
