I'm pretty close to buying a TSP 231/237 cam. My only reservation about it is that it seems like everyone is selling theirs. So whoever dumped it, why did you get rid of this cam?

people are selling because they need money, demoding, going bigger or smaller, i haven't heard anything bad about this cam ever, so I wouldn't worry about it.

if you ahve to do tail pipe emissions (sucha s cali or some counties in va) this cam will not pass. So people are going smaller for that purpose.

This cam sounds absolutely wicked, and if im not mistaken makes some damn good power. I say just jump in head first, buy it, install it, tune it and reep the benefits! that is kind of what im doing, just with a 224/228 cam (so i can atleast be somewhat close to passing emissions tests)

No offense to 231/237 owners, but the recent dyno numbers I've seen for the cam are pathetic. There are some high ones, but I think there are better cams out there.

I live near Chicago so I don't have to worry about emmisions. I know a guy who has this cam and it sounds sick. When I started looking for a cam I didn't know that's what he had, but now I do. So I already know what it sounds like and how it kicks. It doesn't sound as good as Dear John's G5X3, but I also don't want to go that big.

I won't say my #'s are pathetic. That's with 4.10's and FULL exhaust. Not too shbby in my book and it pulls like a ****. Excellent cam IMO.

Hmm... I made 451rwhp 404rwtq back a year ago with that cam. I didn't even have a ported TB or Electric WP back then either... I would say those numbers arent too pathentic I've did several "cam only" installs here locally for guys that have went over 400rwhp cam only. WS-sick here on the board let me install one for him just last week.. he'll be dynoing this coming saturday and I'm sure it will be right at 400rwhp. When I go to the Thunder Shootout this year, that's the cam that'll be in my car

Yep, I couldn't be happier. It pulls like a mother, though I haven't gotten on it much as of late. Even drives alright with stock gears. Oh, it does sound sick.

Speaking of Saturday, Scott, I may not be able to make it (things came up) . I hope I can and will let you know if it won't be possible. Any word from Terry about the intake, guess should pm him and let him know since it's his dyno...

Gomer,
Are you changing out your FM13 for the 231/237? I thought the FM13 made about the same peak number with better low-mid torque?

I love the cam. Good driveability, and I like my numbers with stock heads.

I also have this cam and so far I love it... very driveable even on the canned Predator tune. In fact, I was very surprised that a cam this size drives so well even when untuned... I don't have to do anymore clutching than I did before the cam. Pulls like a freight train too... I can't wait until I get my custom Predator tune for this cam.

I'll be going to the track on the 30th to test it out... I'll post up the results. I was running mid 12s with just bolt-ons, so we'll see what the 231/237 cam, ASP pulley, and ET Streets get me.

The cam is fine. There are some newer grinds that are overtaking it and for some, it's a bit much on the street,,, especially with a auto. I'm perfectly happy with mine. I have a 2000 M6 with the 231/237, Kooks headers, a UD pulley, a LID and some freebie mods. Without tuning {car is running bad rich at idle and at WOT} I ran a 12.40@116MH with a 1.75 sixty ft. while on ET Streets.

Not too shabby of a mph I think especially considering the lack of tuning, full exhaust and I was running bias ply slicks at low air pressure. Drag radials might pick me up 1 mph or so, a cutout {I just welded one in } might give me anouther mph and tuning should definitely give me a mph or two.

Not a bad cam at all, buy one of those used ones and save some money.

I'm happy with mine, I know alot of people switched it because they lost low end power, but who races on low end power? If you have 4.10 gears or a higher stall its all gravy. My best time is in the sig and yes mine needs to be tuned again also.

I sold the FM13 to "evolve" here off the board and he's running it in his car. I had went to a small cam, but the big cam bug has bitten me again... so I'm going to install a used $275 TSP231/237 in the car to run this fall since I have a cage and a 12 bolt now, time to hit the tracks and see what it can do
