Help/advice building C5R NA 427
I have search the forums now hoping to find someone that has been there and done that to reduce costly mistakes. Building a pump gas not daily driver NA 04 Z06 street/track I have GM C5R block, Lunati balanced forged crank 4" stroke/6.125" rods/4.125" bore pistons -17cc Rev Dome, FAST intake with 90mm TB, Granatelli MAF, LG long tube headers, Random Tech CATs, etc. I need suggestions for top of the line components for AFR 225 cc that hopefully will come thru by October. I am considering the following shaft mounted Jesel Pro series Mohawk J2K roller rockers and dog bone lifters with a solid roller cam.
1. What ratio rockers?
2. SS vs Ti valves and what brand? Valve seats?
3. Seat & opening pressure? Brand, O.D., etc
4. What would be a total primo head valve train set up?
Newbie looking for a little help

I'm kinda in the same boat as you. I have everything for the bottom end, now I'm working on the top end. The Jesel's are some sweet rockers and I was planning on them until I checked out the Patriot shaft mount adjustables. Almost half the price. I guess your rocker ratio depends on what lift cam you have, and if you want more lift. I'm sticking with 1.7's. I can no longer wait on the AFR 225's. And I guess I wouldn't want to run an unproven head. I am impressed with the FMS 6.0l head. Vince just pulled 563/518 on a 408, you can check it out in the dyno section. That's pretty dang good.

I believe I am going to wait on the AFR 225cc heads with Jesel Mohawks 1.7 rockers with Comp #26095 Beehive Springs 180 seat pressure/430 opening with Ti retainers, keepers, Manley Ti valves and solid roller rocker should do the trick on this 427 ci C5R block.

Just received my C5R race heads from ET Performance and they did a fantastic job. The flow figures are on the 390Cfm @750" lift but more importantly is the mid range figures.

H ey guys you don"t have to wait for big AFR heads, sounds like money is NO problem.Get TEA or some other vendor to CNC some AFR castings to about 235cc(TEA has these) get them to set up the whole deal, valves, rockers ,etc.P.S. the 225 is the same casting as 205 or the bare casting anyway.Must be NICE!!!

I've been playing phone tag with Tooley at TEA for about two weeks maybe I'll make the connection before the 225cc become available or maybe not? Just looking at all the options! And getting as much info/opinions as possible before putting the money down.

I know Brian at TEA had some heads on here about two weeeks ago that flowed like over 350 cfm with 237cc port, the AFR casting is much better then the stock ls1.I think the ideal set-up is AFR casting ported by some of the guys over >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
