Did the LS1 AC Oil Filter change from PF44 to PF47?

Question Did the LS1 AC Oil Filter change from PF44 to PF47?
I cant remember if the number got changed for LS1 Did AC change Oil Filter number from PF 44 to PF47?

yes it did change to either 46 or 47 (i just went blank, but i think it was to 47 though)

I'm pretty sure it's a 47, they can look it up for you at autozone. I personally use the truck filter. Either for the 5.3 or 6.0 Silverado. It will fit, but it's a bit more surface area on the filter.

Ok Thanks alot guysI thought so,I got one tonight at Murrays,I looked it up in the book ,but it wasnt updated it said PF44 ,I was in a hurry and the line for service was way to long.So I just was going by memory and grabbed the PF47...

The PF47 won't fit, that is the one for the 3.8 V6. The new AC filter for the LS1 is the PF46.

yeah, i questioned the parts guy when he gave it to me, and he said yes they did change it to 46; different valving perhaps?

Ok,Back to Murray's to change the 47 to a 46,I guess Haste makes waste...Thanks for the info

Or you can use the UPF44...the higher grade PF44. Ultra Guard PF44. Much better IMO. Or the PF59 which is the longer of the 2.

Thanks for the Info,on my next oil change I might give the longer filter a try,a little more filteration wouldnt hurt

I don't know about now-a-days but back then the PF35L's were actually cheaper than the PF35s that would be great if it was that way with the PF59
