Try to re-adjust the bellows to make the lid move a little farther into the car. I have the SLP Lid and I don't seem to have the problem, although I have heard of it before.

Seriously though, maybe just get a new lid.

If you have CAI, it makes it more difficult to adjust. As said above, you need to get it further back and all it takes is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch lower and you be good. Get some black touch up for the hood or put a sticker over it!

I stick a very thin black rubber-foam on the black hood and troubles are over.

I have the SLP Lid, and the 2 clamps that hold it down never stay closed! Every time I pop the hood they have popped off....I adjusted the couplers and I still have the same damn problem.

1) Untighten all clamps (lid->maf, maf->bellow and bellow->TB)

2) Unlatch the clips

3) Pull the lid just a little bit towards you, just so the tabs on the back get off

4) Put the lid back holding the front part slightly up, making sure the tabs go under

5) Press the lid towards the MAF

6) Press the lid down, making sure the lip between the metal clips is INSIDE the box

7) Latch the clips (they should latch good now, and stay there)

8) Re-tighten all clamps again

9) Done -- no more rubbing on hood, no more unlatching clips.

i've got the SLP MAF w/ the SLP Lid. i've never had any problems. the only thing is just making sure the middle of the lip is tucked in.

Yes, about 85% of your lid goes inside that lip, the other 15% (the corners) go outside. That cleared up the issue for me

I had the problem of the clips popping everytime i opened the hood, then I put the middle part of the lid inside the airbox and the corners on the outside and I have yet to have any more problems. I also have the smooth bellows, but I don't have the slp maf sensor.

I had the same problem. I ended up fileing and sanding the bottom of the lid towards the rear if the lid. Took a long time, just removed a little bit at a time, but I finally got the lid to stop rubbing. It also closed up a small gap between the lid and lower box.

I'll sacrifice the slight rubbing for the best flowing lid. GMHTP did a test, and out of 10 lids the SLP lid flowed best!
