Default Spring Question

We were attempting to put cam and new springs in the car but are having issues with the spring tool. The cam is 277 285 228 232 588 575 113. Can the car run with the stock springs until we get the new tool or have someone put the new springs in? This is a daily driver but I would hate to put the stock cam back in,

Kane

I would say no way. Don't do it. I wouldn't even start it with stock springs let alone drive it.

I was just curious so it is either get the spring tool working or put the stock cam back in.

Thanks for the info,

Kane

get the right spring tool. I used the Crane Cams tool. Took 15 minutes per SET of springs. Number 8 took the longest but I would never use the stock springs.

We had the tool from Thunder Racing but it would not compress the Patriot dual springs very well. The valve stem would get of center so we could not get the keepers in.

stock springs barely support the stock cam lol.. ls6 springs are only good for the ls6 cam basically, im thinking u can run the comp 918's good to .600 lift, this will also work with the stock retainers ya know, if ur going to replace those as well, just go ahead and get the patriot dual spring kit for like 280$, comes with everything and is good to .650 which is more then enuff.
