Default Yet ANOTHER head thread (5.3's)

I already did a search, but had a hard time finding any opinions to suit my question. I have a 02 Z28, with LT's, and a tr224/224/112 cam. Im in the market for heads. I have pretty much decided on Stage II 5.3 heads. (in my price range) I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on these, either good, or bad, and if anyone knew a good reputable company to deal with to buy a set. Id like to find the best price possible as well. Id like to buy from a sponsor, if possible. All opinions are welcome. Thanks guys!

Chris...I'll buy the beer and food again, if ya wanna hook a brother up withsome garage time...lol

I'm biased towards TEA 1.5 5.3's, but PRC heads from Texas Speed look good.
MTI 2E's are also affordable and very good.

I'll just point out that you want to be DEAD CERTAIN that you won't be doing any forced induction in the future with the car.

I thought I'd be satisfied with my N/A setup, and yeah, I was. But now I see all these cars coming from the dealer with more and more power and hell, I need 500 rwhp! I just gotta get a blower. And I'll have to swap out my Stage II 5.3 L heads to lower the compression for the blower.

Just a heads up.

This is good advice.

Some AFR 205's would be wicked with a TR224 cam.

I have them for my project, there great for a good performance boost, bump in compression, and you dont have to worry about P/V clearance issues.

I was just gathering opinions on where to get them for a decent price, and which company might be the best to purchase through, etc. I really think these heads will be the best setup for me.

RW99....Also, Im pretty certain that Im not going to do a forced induction setup. Im gonna save for that when I get my classic. I love the look of a big blower sticking out of the hood, on a classic.

AFR's are sweet..

but I like and have the TEA 1.5 5.3 heads with my old 224 cam

saw 399.9 in the A4.. a friends M6 saw 435 with the same heads/cam and all bolt ons
you should definitly see over 400hp with that setup

call TEA and talk to Brian or Brent.. they will help you pick whats best for your needs! The TEA's are around 1400-1700 for the 1.5's

I have to jump in and say try the Patriots if you are on a budget. They work awsome in my car with no problems at all.
