Default best sleeper cam for spray?

im thinking of going away from the idea of the 233/239, f13, tq'er sized cams.. for one thing i love the idle of those cams, but around here if u have a lope like that every supra or z06 or pretty much every jackass wants to follow u around and talk **** ect. seen it happen many times

so what is a good mild cam for 3000 converter, 3.73's and a 100-150 shot?

would a ls6 cam work well? i mean the cam and springs and pushrods would be cheap and they would last a long time.. i could kinda sneak up on ppl with an xtra 25-30 hp, rather then being everyones target with an extra 50!

would i be better off with a tr220 or 224 or one of the mti cams? but im sure they will still idle choppier then the ls6 cam, + cost more, and if the idle is even going to hint i have a cam, i might as well go as big as possible.

i would want the bigger cam, but im 19 and buying valvesprings and the extra money to take care of it might not suit me either

as far as the drivability, that makes no difference to me.

look into the lingenfelter GT2-3. Very good cam, idles better than stock, very very good on the bottle. Power into the 380's (N/A) on stock heads and you (or anyone else for that matter) would NEVER even know that its there. Just an option to check out

not sure if i understand, are you saying you dont want to buy valvesprings, just a mild cam for stock valvetrain? if so, then you have no choice, the only cam that will work with stock valvesprings is the stocker.

if i misunderstood you, then my bad . give futral a call and tell them what you are looking for, they will set you up with what you need.

i agree. i have it in my car now and put down 351/350 with in on stock exhaust. before the swap i put down 316/343. the guy that did the pulls didn't even know that there was a cam in my car until i told him.

nah, ls6 cam kit comes with springs.. tis cheap too is what i was saying.. ls1 springs barely support a ls1 camshaft.

what are teh specs on this cam? where do they sale this cam? what springs are required.. is it a ls6 style cam? low lift and easy on springs or what? more info please!

oh i dunno if this applys but i do want a split pattern.. like 218/222 or something.. or like i said if this is a waste of time and thinking i may go with the 233/239, i just know if i ride around with that cam, ill be a marked man.. ppl around here can stand it when someone gets a new mod.. everyone will want to talk **** and fight from what ive seen, but not even race.

plus im just not sure i can afford the extra stuff needed with much larger cams right now.

Lingenfelter GT2-3 207/220 .571/.578 118.5

i bought a set of manley springs in ti retainers to use with this cam. i think 918's will work with it also. imo, the cam is like the LS6 cam on roids. i think you would be happy with it.

yea that is a split alright lol. much like the ls6 it would seem but with higher lift.

now where do they sale it??? is pushrods 918's and the cam sufficent? i would prolly get a ls6 pump and ls2 timing chain for the swap. i guess thats all still a lil cheaper then dual springs and the stuff needed for a bigger cam.

you can order them from lingenfelter. i'm using stock pushrods and timing chain. it wouldn't be a bad idea for you to get hardened pushrods though.

yea i may have to wait and get my current setup dynoed and tuned, this way if i only make 305hp i know i have to go bigger to meet my goals of atleast 355 with a smaller cam or 385 with a lopey cam.. if i put down 330 i wouldn't have to go as big ya know, but i doubt ill come close.

wow huge lift on the gt1-1, says its needs spring and retainers.. not sure that would clear pistons..

anyone running the 208/230? or is everyone just going with the 207/220? either way an unusual line of cams.

I don't think you need to worry about selecting a "nitrous friendly" cam unless you're spraying over a 150 shot (actually, over a 200 shot).

Predator Z sprays his MTI Stealth II with very good results. That cam makes good power NA also.
