You'll get a ton of opinions on oil. My .02 would be to do some research over at Bob's. link - http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi

I've been hearing hype about Castrol Syntec fully synthetic made in Germany. 0-30w I believe. I just haven't looked hard enough to find it. You can't go wrong with Mobil 1 5-30 syn though.

Amsoil, Redline, and the new Castrol seem to be the top tier.

there is some new oil about to hit the market, this stuff might be worth getting

we did some Engine testing on the LS1 and Mobil 1* and it was amazing can we say 30,000 miles without a drain.

Here's the new line up:

The german castrol 0-30 is good stuff, if you can find it. I run the M1 0-40 since I can't find the castrol.

ExxonMobil rolls out longer-lasting motor oil
By Lisa Sanders, MarketWatch
Last Update: 4:06 PM ET Jan. 25, 2005

DALLAS (MarketWatch) -- ExxonMobil said Tuesday it has developed a new line of motor oils designed to extend the length of time needed between oil changes.

The integrated oil and gas company (XOM: news, chart, profile) said that the oils guarantee protection and performance for a minimum of 5,000 and up to 15,000 miles.

The company said consumer research found that half of all drivers wait more than 3,000 miles to get their oil changed, and close to 90 percent of those surveyed indicated they would use a motor oil that's guaranteed for up to 7,500 miles.

"Consumers have told us that while they may not necessarily go 15,000 miles between changes with Mobil 1 Extended Performance, they appreciate knowing that the level of protection they're experiencing can go the distance," said Mike Mullins, the vice president of marketing for ExxonMobil Lubricants and Specialties, in a statement.

Castrol syntec 0w30 here. You have to keep pulling the quarts out and looking at the back of them till you get however many German made you need. Every AZ carries them.
