well the highest i heard an ls1 running is 14-1 but i don't know what octane. i guess the only way to get there is milled heads, or one hell of a domed piston.

looked up diamonds catalog and with 62cc ls6 heads and there off the shelf dome piston it's 12.2:1 ... anyone know what it'll be with 5.3 heads? ... and is 12.2 pump gas friendly

lookin for the absolute most compression possible and still be on pump gas ... someone's got to have tried this before

If you run a coating on the chamber you can run more compression. I run 11.5 to one i think. I could add a full point i think because of the coating i run.I use sunnoco 94 though.

I'm:
.010 out of the hole
.045 Gasket
61cc chamber AFR's

At approx 11.3 : 1 I should be safe and happy on 93 Octane per Tony

I ran 11.5:1 on 94. Just make sure you keep the engine temp down... 160* thermostat recommended.
