Yeah but they never reposted the Numbers, i know in a 408 thats a relatively mild cam, and with the AFR's you;d think it would make more power specially flowing on a 4" bore.
something just doesn't seem right stock headed cars are making 415 RWHP with basic boltons.
My friend is putting down 470 With the G5X3 (a tad bit samller than MS3) WCCH Stg 3 heads on his 346.
it seems as though the extra 62 cubes would be worth more than 43 rwhp.

Keep in mind that the AFR 205s that he is using was designed for a small cammed 346, and the intake and exhaust ports, while they flow well, are tiny. Also, peak numbers are one thing, that 408 has much more low and mid range HP and TQ than your buddies 346. A 470 rwhp 408 would KILL a 470 rwhp 346.

thats true. I've been wondering the same when i went ahead and ordered the 408. Even thought they have almost similar peak numbers, the low mid range of the 408 is much broader and stronger than the stock cube motor. THats where the extra cubes gain their advantage.
My cam is a 246/248 duration @ 59x/6xx lift. I think this is a good cam but i ve seen durations like 250 making more power as well. It all depends on the tune but anything along those lines should yield good power.
good luck.

how much power is your motor making.
This is My DD so i'm really only looking for about 500-520RWHP I want the Torque to match or exceed my HP, But wan to keep it as tame as possible i was wondering abouthe MS3 because i already have it sitting in my closet.

Alex,
Ryne has a huge cam in his 346 with HOGGED out heads. No low end TQ. If you put a correspondingly huge cam in a 408, it would make insane power. You have to compare apples to apples.
A decent 408 with good heads and a decent cam will make 500 rwhp +. Mike's setup and cam will not be pleasant as a dailly driver. My 408 with a 238/242 through an a4 is making 460 rwhp. I lost close to 100 h.p. throught the trans, tq, and friction. In a m6 car, I would dyno very close to 500 rwhp with my setup. Plus, I'm only running 10.1 comp. Another point adds another 3-4%

Yank SS3800.
True, but he would also have 10k in his pocket instead of throwing it away.
