Default noise with moser only on accell????

from 0 to 80 i get this loud howling whining noise..wheni push the gas..wheni let go it goes away????

i have the lpe drive shaft with proper u joint(448)

whats going on...its not really a whining noise...more like a howl...the drive shaft fits... its tight but iti fits...also i have the 1350 yoke as well..if that makes a defference....

let me know...im not sure if i need a different drive shaft..or if something is set up wrong

thanks alot!

My Moser 12 w/4:11's makes a lot of noise too. Mine is on deccel however. Don't worry..95% of Moser's seem to make some noise.

you can either a) get used to it, get louder exhaust, or turn up the radio

or b) buy a new gearset and have them setup by a reputable rear-end shop. this can fix the problem (usually does fix or at least reduce the noise), or it can not do a damn thing. its a hit or miss kinda thing. my moser 12 w/ 4.11's dont make a sound (havent really launched hard yet).

Thee 12 Bolts don't stay quiet once you start racing hard. Especially with sticky tires.

What do you mean by the shaft is tight? Is the slip yoke into the trans so far that the webbing hits the tailhousing?
How much slip yoke is showing out of your trans when the car is on the ground(not jacked up with the rear tires hanging)?
Last - did you buy a stock length shaft?

If you have that billet yoke on the pinion you'll need to shorten your DS most likely. I had to and a few others have had to also.

Usually from the backlash not be set properly. If I recall correctly too tight = noise when you accel, & too loose = noise when you decle....or vice versa, I can't remember for sure, it's been too long. But a good rear end shop knows. My 9" is quiet!

But then some OEM gears are just noisy.
