Default How to clean inside of new cam?

Whats the best way to clean the inside of a new cam before installation. Just spray brake cleaner through it or actually stick something through it? What have you guys done?

I searched this topic and all I found just said to "clean inside of cam".

I have always just poured oil through it. You could clean the inside out if you had a narrow enough brush or something, maybe a rolled up rag or paper towel, it just never seemed to be that big of a deal to me to mess with.

When I cleaned my cam, I used a piece of 3/8" rubber hose and a shop towel. Just pushed the towel through the cam with the hose, cleaned the inside of the cam real good.

If you are really **** about cleaning it go to a music store and buy a swab for a saxophone...it's a long, soft fabric rod that is used to insert down the neck of a sax to pull out the moisture. They are not expensive and would be perfect for cleaning a cam.

I used a gun cleaning brush with plenty of Brake Cleaner. There is typically a bunch of metal shavings in there..... clean it well. Use plenty of oil when installing it.

Cheap - go to Wal-Mart. I'm not sure the exact size you need, but you should look at the rifle kits they have for under $10.
