Default what size injectors for 440rwhp?

Hey Guys,

I have a set of TEA heads and a FMS f13. I am hoping for 440 rwhp and i was wondering what injector will be best for my application. My other mods are in my sig and i dynoed 351 rwhp and 367 rwtq so i think a 90 hp gain w/ heads and cam is not out of the question. Thanks for the help guys.

Thanks, I've heard of some people needing bigger injectors w/ a head and cam swap and some people are ok so im a little concerned.I just think with the combo ive picked out and my current hp that 440 is within reason. Thanks for the bump.

You have an '02 so it came with the 28 lb injectors, I was told by Futral that my stock injectors would be fine with a F13 and my PRC stg 2.5's. I'm hoping for around 440 rwhp too, hopefully I'll be able to tell you if the stockers are enough injector here in a couple weeks.

I'm having a slightly more powerful cam, electric water pump and 3200 Yank converter installed. Also getting Accel 32 lb fuel injectors. Should these flow much more than the Z06 injectors I have now?

from what i hear, the 2000 that has 26#ers are good to about 440 or so, approx. the 28#ers are good to 475 rwhp. so hopefully that will answer some questions. good luck.

If that does not suport your HP , go with the SVO Bosch #30's , that will work perfect and you will not have to wrry about maxing them out . We have them in stock for $229 if you decide you need them .

Assuming a BSFC of 0.5 The Lucas 42s are good for 629 crank hp, the 3 bar 36s are good for 532, and the 3 bar 30s are good for 443 crank hp. All this is at 80% duty cycle.

I went with the 42s since they have a rep of being ez to tune at idle (and they are) and would give me plenty of room up top (so far I have not seen any thing higher than 67% duty cycle and it idles well.

Based on this data the SVO 30s (32 at a 3 bar rating pressure) would be a fair bit too small. Of course if you miss your target rwhp, they may be fine. Or if you are willing to take a chance on them getting up to 100% duty cycle they also may be fine.

I went with FAST 36# injectors when I put the new FAST 90mm TB and LSX intake on, along with a set of AFR 205's and Comp 228/230 cam. Probably is over kill for now, but I will be adding an aftercooled procharger sooner or later (when the $$ gets saved up).

yeah you only want to run 80% duty cycle. like stated the 99-2000 are 26.4# and the 98,01-02 are 28.8# they dont flow enough for good power at 80% duty cycle. remember the hp ratings are crank not rear wheel. i figured one time i needed 34# injectors to support 430-450 rwhp. go with the gm 36# injectors and you will be set. i went with 38# racetronix ones and they are a bitch to tune, you have to adjsut the pulse widths and all that bs. stick with something easy to tune and that will support the power. 36#ers is my recommendation and then that give you room to grow. a good tune with the f13 could make a lot of power

prostock was right, 32# injectors should be good, but the 36 would leave some room

I ran stock 2000s on my 416 h/c car for 45k and countless passes at the track with no issues. Im putting gm 28 lbers in my new setup.
