Default My new custom Ed Curtis Cam Specs...they're not small!

236/244 .631/.631 113 LSA 111 ICL

Powerband from 3500-7000rpms There's a lot more going on with this cam than just the cam specs you see. Shift point is 7400rpms

Supposed to make a lot more power than the coveted G5X3. We'll see.

The cam is setup for maximum power on pump gas both on and off the bottle, i.e. no more than a 150-175 shot.

Will keep everyone updated. With the addition of this cam and my new additions including a LSX 90/90 setup, EWP, and better headers, I'd love to be at 480+rwhp N/A through a 12 bolt and 60lb 18x10.5 wheels/tires, NO dyno tricks, full exhaust, 28 degrees of timing, and 10.9:1 compression.......and of course some very low 10 second track times on bottle

Nope. Springs are already 921s with only a couple thousand miles on em if that, rockers will stay stock, and lifters are already Comp R lifters

I'll check with Ed first, but I think the answer will be no, and I don't blame him. The only other specs I have are lobe lift, and valve timing with respect to intake and exhaust open and close. I have nothing on the various cam duration specs at various tappet lifts.

Sounds like a great combo. Is it a straight 1.7 rocker arm ratio? Good luck getting it all together.

7400 shift point. That is just free power up there if the motor will hold together.

Are you gonna dyno with the cam being the only change, or are you changing the intake, TB, cam, and headers all at once? I'd like to see how much the cam actually helps.

true dat! But not really bigger than the X4 (sans lift), so we'll see how this compares to the gains going from an X3 to an X4

I will be doing a dyno with the headers, EWP, and LSX 90/90 combo with the G5X3 for a baseline, and will swap to Ed's cam and redyno.

So yes, there will be a direct cam comparo.

I really don't think it's fair to expect an off the shelf cam designed with stock heads in mind to make the same #s as a cam designed specifically for a set of heads.

Very very cool, it should be interesting to see a back to back test, with the cam being the only change.

Definitely, a custom cam that was precisely designed with your specific combo in mind should, hyphotecially speaking, absolutely MURDER an off the shelf, "generic" cam like the G5X3.

My bet is that you will pick up 6-8 top end, and gain maybe a little midrange.

In order to keep things civil at 7400 matt, you have trade offs.

Hasn't Ed already out powered the G5X-3 in a dyno race... Maybe it was kept quiet.
