Default How fast on a 16" or 17" radial??

Wondering how fast some of you guys went on a 16" or 17" radial. Don't care which brand, just about the size mainly.

Thinking about running in scandalous's 17" radial class and I want to see how slow in that class I'll be.

If you could include your car's weight and power adder(s) also, that would be great...

So far the fastest I've seen is like 10.70's. and a supra that claimed 9.90's with the stock twins(a little iffy if you ask me).

thanks,
Brian

Er, that's me......I never claimed stock twins, they are HKS 52 trim turbos, plus all the supporting bolt-ons.

It was on the BFG 255/50-16's.

1.49 60' on BFG 255/50-16's

The Viper's time doesnt count for this inquiry - QTP means Quick Time Pro Slicks.

Wow a 1.49 60' on those tires is pretty good.

How much does the car weigh?

I just figured you were getting the ET from big MPH on the back half.

But good 60'

It is 3530# race weight, sometimes more if I need to add ballast to the rear! It is very hard to get a good ET on all MPH, got to have a good 1/8 mile time.

You are right but I have seen quite a few turbo car do an OK 1st 1/8th
mile then have a big second 1/8th rush.

So you went 9.90 with a 1.49 60' at 3530 pounds race weight?

Or was that 60' from a different run?

You still have to have big MPH to run in the 9's with a 1.49 60'.

What was the MPH when all was said and done 135 ?

Still a good 60' on 255/50-16 BFG's is that a record? Especially for being at or above 3500 lbs. It is the quickest I have seen.

The 1.49 was on the 9.90@139.00 run. The MPH was unusually high on that run, good air I guess.

I usually trap in the 135's - which would have been enough to still get a 9.9X, based on my 2nd best run from another day - 10.13@135.5 with a 1.64 60'.

I just switched to the M/T Radials, hope to get another 1.49!

On 17" Nittos I ran the times in my sig.

A buddy of mine with a supra was running high 10s at low 13xmph on 17" Nittos also.

You see, good MPH 139... Are the M/T radials 16" too?
Is that 9.90 on the 16" BFG DR a record at 3500#?

Good luck with the M/T DR, I hear they are great.

Years ago I saw Big Daddy in his turbo mustang go 9's with BFG Drag radials size 275/40-17 front and rear. I almost fell over. This was when DR's first came out years and years ago.

Dwayne is the man when it comes to DRs, isn't he like in the mid-high 7s now, like 2nd quickest on DRs?
