Having my TCI SSF3500 installed tomorrow...
I'm getting my stall put in tomorrow by a reputable shop. Anything I need to let them know beforehand? NOBODY else has ever worked on my car aside from welding exhaust, and I'm kinda worried to leave it with someone, reputable or not.
Anyways, I'm very excited and just wondering if there is anything I should tell them before the install.

You should be fine. For any tranny shop a converter install should be cake. If they are installing the shift kit you might want to tell them how you would like the car to shift.
Let us know how you like the stall and shift kit. I just got my SS3800 today and I still need to order the shift kit, so i'd like to hear some input back from ya!! Oh yeah, are they installing a trans cooler also?? If not you should look into getting one.

For the converter, as AK said, any shop that does a lot of tranny R&R would be good. For the shift kit, you definitely want somebody who is familiar with the Transgo kit. Shop around till you find one. When I called the guy who ended up doing mine, invited me to check out his shop. When I walked in, I saw a big stack of Transgo boxes in the corner ... evidence enough he knew what he was doing with these kits.

I've having the converter installed at Aggressive Performance on Groesbeck between 12 and 13 mile. Bruce seems like a really good guy, and his price was unbeatable.
I'll be sure to keep on eye on my tranny fluid. Thanks for the heads up.
I'm hoping to do a bit better than 12.5 with Headers and 3.23's. Traction may be a problem though. I'll try to get down to the track this summer and let you guys know.
I'll def. keep this thread updated as to my impressions on the converter. Picking the car up tomorrow morning.

Just picked up my car. I think I'm gonna break it in for about 100 miles before I get on it.
Couple question though:
1. What is this loud ticking I hear when I'm idling next to other cars. Sounds like a damn time bomb.
2. At very light load the 1-2 shift is crazy. It is VERY harsh. I haven't had any tuning done yet. Will that fix these problems?
Also, I died in reverse about 10 minutes ago. The general consensus is to raise the idle 100-150 rpms. Any other input?

Here are my initial impressions:
WOW! I told myself I wouldn't get on it for the first 200 miles or so, but I couldn't help it. From about 55 mph I was trying to pass this truck. I gunned and held on for dear life. This sucker pulls now! The hard 1-2 shift apparantly only happens in D (3 for you Trans Am guys). In OD it doesn't do that.
The ticking noise is most likely an exhaust leak. I can already see where the y-pipe joins together that the clamp isn't very tight.
I still have a few things I want to test out, but they will have to wait.
1. 25 roll
2. Dead stop
3. 40-50 dead spot
4. 65 where the trans downshifts to the top of 2nd
I'll let you guys know.

Livernois Motorsports installed my Vig 2800. I also got a basic tune to adjust shift points. I had to have my idle raised also due to stalling. Its been in for three months.

You're having this shifting problem too 02 wife? Did you get a basic tune also? I called Livernois and I thought they were asking a little too much for the install.
Also, doesn't your converter feel really loose with those 2.73's?

I hated it at first! The shifts seemed slow and I did not like how the engine reved. I had a tune done to firm up the shifts. I have gotten use to the shifts and have adjusted to it. It seemed loose at first but I have been driving it, so its like normal.
