Question Questions About putting a 02 LS1 into a 98z28?

Will i be able to put a 02 WS6 LS1 with a LS6 block into my car without having problems with parts not matching? its a long block. I have a 98z28 ls1 with blown motor which cant be rebuilt. So i was looking at perhaps getting a LS6 intake with EGR provisions so i can keep my car legal. The 02 engine has 25k on it v.s my blown 93k motor. Thanks

I thought there was one sensor location on the 98 motors that differed from the 99+ motors?

2 things you'll have to change if your running the 98 computer. 98s have a different coolant temp sensor, and you will have to put in the 98 injectors, or scale your IFR table accordingly if you use the 02 injectors. everything else should be plug and play.

I just did a similiar swap and my knock sensor connectors were not the same. I had to move my 98's over to the new motor.

Why swap in an LS1? Just go for the LS6. You're already doing all the work.

Just use your 98 CTS. Derek98z is right, you will need to put your 98 KS in too.
