I'm not sure but I think you will have problems with that 601 lift with 5.3 heads.

When were the heads purchased?

Were they bought direct from TEA?

Have you called TEA?

What is the spark plug readings like from bank to bank?

A4 or M6?

Sounds like you may have a serious problem somewhere if it is a M6

Why is always the heads that are the reason power is down?

What type of exhaust are you using . I have noticed you better have a great exhaust if you want to run a reverse split with good results.

Our heads have never worked very well with a reverse split cam but I would expect them to do better than that.. How old are the heads? Did you get them from us or from someone else?

What springs are you running? If it is the old comp 978 I think you are pressing it on the valve spring side.
What are your other mods?

I bought the heads from TEA. I have SLP Lt's no cats, slp y pipe running into a flowmaster muffler with a cutout. I have a ls6 manifold, ported throttle body, lid, and the slp bellow. Its a 6 speed. I wasnt ******* on the heads at all, i love the heads, they are awesome. Im just wondering if i need to go with a different cam. Im not real sure what springs i have, i know they are dual springs. The guy that did my motor said that that cam would work perfect with those heads, guess i should have called TEA and talked to them about it.

I would guess you have a tuning or mechanical problem. If all the install is done right and your tune is good your combo is good for well over 400 rwhp.

I made well over 400 rwhp with a TR 224/224 at .561 on a 114 with LTs and the TEA 5.3 heads. BTW, I did have very close piston to valve clearance with this setup and that relatively mild cam.

Sounds like a careful install check and a leakdown test is in order. If all is well, get it tuned professionally.

Well I would say you for sure have a problem. The numbers you qouted sound like cam only numbers for that camshaft. Are you sure your installer put on the TEA heads?
I would check your valve springs first. Then do a leakdown test.

Send me a PM when you get a chance.

Maybe it is the dyno or the operator.
I am running TEA stage 1.5 heads with the mods in my sig. and I put down 365hp on a DynoJet. The 3450lb car runs low 11s all day long and a best in the high 10s and has trapped in the mid 124 range. Needless to say I do not believe my dyno numbers.

Well what happened to you? You join this month, You start a thread saying our heads didn't make power. Then I ask for your name and to take it to PM so I could help. Then you never post about it again. We are here to help if a product of ours does not perform.

My thoughts on this is someone did not install the heads you gave them if you prove to be a TEA customer.
