Default .62 sixth gear in 2001 T/A

Is it possible to swap the .62 OD into a '01 T56? Details?

What's the point of changing you 6th gear ratio? It's not like you're gonna be racing in 6th gear, you just hurt your highway gas mileage

5th is like .73 and 6th is .5 if i remember correctly..

I too see no point in changing it, unless you are planning on using it for top speed......??????

An even better question is can you change first gear to the Z06 ratio (I beleive its 2.9x as opposed to 2.6). This way if you have 3.73s, its like having 4.10s in first but without the risk of blowing the 4.10s (factory 10-bolt of course) or losing the gas mileage and drivability for the rest of the gears. I had 4.10s and hated them... was constantly shifting or skipping gears on purpose around town.

All of the gear ratios in the f-body T-56 can be changed to an extent. Check out G-force transmissions to get an idea. It is by no stretch of the imagination cheap though.

D&D does offer the .62 6th, but the 5th and 6th must be changed out. The 1 gear cannot be changed to the 2.97 due to the countershaft gears.

I would like to .62 sixth because with 3.42 gears, light flywheel/clutch, and a 231/237 cam, sixth gear is pretty much useless. I would like to put 3.23 gears in to drop the rpm in open road races, but that makes sixth exen more useless.

A lower first would be great, but....
