Default Which cam?

I have a 00 Corvette FRC 6-speed with 23k miles and am trying to figure out which cam to use? Many have recommended the LG-G5X3-114 but I am not so sure about this. I am currently stock but planning to run this setup

KNN intake
Granatelli MAF
SLP Headers
Bassani off road x-pipe
cam
LS1 edit with dyno tune

any recommendations? I am not concerned with smog but I do drive the car daily so streetablilty is key. Also, my goal is 400 whp / 400 wtq

thanks
Ben

stay away from slp headers. they have minimal graound clearance

to make 400, your going to need a very aggressive cam. or a mild cam and some heads and full bolt ons of course

try your cam questions in the internal engine section. youll get more help

I don't know the exact specs on my cam, but I run the ZO6 cam and intake which makes my engine pretty much Corvette material. The specs MAY be, don't quote me, 204/211 525/525 116 lsa. Or it could be the 204/218 551/547 117.5 lsa. Anyways, with my mods, I am expecting close-to/exceeding 400 rwhp after a full tune. I don't know anything about Corvettes, but if your car comes with the same cam as a stock LS1 Camaro, TransAm, Vette, I would recommend the Z06 cam. I drive my car daily and the cam behaves well. The idle is smooth but slightly lopey, partially due to the LT's and Borla. This is all just my opinion but I would recommend this cam if your car is not equipped with it already. I wanted the 112 LSA cam with high lift but it wasn't practical for daily use. If I get another daily driver, I would think about the "big" cam, but not right now. Hope this helps.

Stay away from The MAF too. I wasted 150$ on my SLP 85mm. Check out the kooks/QTP LT's, if you have the coin.

One other thing, a good way to get some HP is to get the FAST intake. It's a nice piece. If I had the cash, it would be on my car with some Nasty Performance rails and a 90mm TB.

your going to need a VERY aggresive cam to get 400 rhp with no heads and fulls bolt ons. your probably around 350-360 tops

The guy I bought the car off of, "claimed" the car dynoed 350hp/350tq as the car sits (minus the lid) untuned. I, however, never saw documentation of this. After the car gets tuned, I have been told I should expect 40-50 hp once the fuel map is optimized. I'm no expert on tuning, I am basing my "prediction" on friends comments and knowledge.

If your car is running terrible right now, you might see 15 hp. if it running good you MIGHT see 10hp.

With a t-rex cam, which is huge, you might get 400 with out heads.
As of right now, you are over 400 at the flywheel. mabe this is what your friends are talking about

Krazydan....thanks for the input. Maybe I misunderstood him when he was talking flywheel HP versus wheel HP. I will be sure to post results after a tune and dyno run.
