Did a search on tapping out the crank, and found two different answers..
It appears my stock crank bolt got torqued in too far and messed up the last 3-4 threads on the bolt. I am going to have to tap the crank. I believe the bolt is a 16 x 2.0 but I see many guys saying to use a 16 x 1.2 tap. Which tap do I use, a 16 x 2.0 or 16 x 1.2?
I have a line on a 16 x 2. 6" long tap, I hope I can find the same in a 1.2 if I need to.

I know the bolt is a 16 x 2.0 I had it measured at a machine shop, but since I am ignorant to all this, I didn't know if I am to use a tap the same size as the bolt (which makes sense) or use a 16 x 1.2 tap for reasons I am not aware of.

Oh one other thing, I am told theres different points to choose from when it comes to a tap. I guess it matters? Heres the one I am going to get, its spiral tipped.

I suppose that one will work fine?
