Default Race Headers installed-what to do w/ slp lid?

What do I do w/ the hose that comes out of the lid? Also, is there anything I need to plug on the intake manifold or anywhere else on the car? I already had the codes removed for the emissions etc...
This is for an 01.
Anyone know?

A 01 should have a ls6 intake with out the egr so you don't have to plug any thing there. Go to a hardwere store and get a plastic plug that you plug hydraulic lines with and RTV it in the air box.

Go to PepBoys. I just did this with the SLP lid two weeks ago.

Go to the aisle with all the HELP! stuff. Bunch of red boxes with misc stuff in them. Find the Bypass Caps. They have a lot of different sizes, but you need the biggest one they have. 3/4". They come in a pack of two. That cap is the exact size to put on the 90 degree piece that comes out of the lid. It's also tight enough to seal it without a clamp or anything too. 3 bucks. Cheap.

The AIR is supposed to be turned off in the ECU, but one side of the AIR blows and one side of the AIR pulls air. I just connected them together...But i'm not sure if it's right. I plugged the airbox and I plugged one really small hose in the back of the engine bay.

If its turned off in your computer get under the drivers side wheel well in between the bumper and fender and unplug and remove the whole air pump and all of the air lines. Saves weight and space.

But why is it blowing/sucking air if it's turned off in the ecu? Is it only the trouble code that they turn off when they do that?

Go to this thread right here. This is the thread I used when removing my air and egr system. You obviously didn't have EGR to start with being an 01, but it goes into very specific detail about how to remove it and gives you some great pictures too. As long as you follow the instructions given in that thread, you should be fine.

Would it be bad to leave it hooked up to itself running in a loop? I am thinking about leaving it on there in case my car breaks down. I could just put the stock manifolds back on (because I have 60K miles left on my warranty). I wk for a law firm so I dont have to worry about them standing up to their warranty.

Later models, that hose is for the AIR system. There is
a site that sells the plug to go in the air lid, dunno if it's
a sponsor or not but you could find it if you looked on
Google for "ls-1 lid plug air $6.99" ....

It would still pass emissions without the AIR system right?? As long as the codes are deleted.

I don't think it would pass emissions, unless you had a really good tune.?? We don't have emissions tests here though.

What plugs did you order? Did you read my post about the pep boys plug further up? You pay 3 bucks or less and you are done.

There might be a few other places/sponsors that sell them as well.

Yeah, I already plugged the air box. I am trying to seal off the AIR, from where I removed it going into the motor.
