how many miles is too many?
i'm going to look at a 2000 ws6, auto with 105,000 miles on it. is this to many miles for the ls1 motor? how much should i offer the dealer for it? he's asking around $13,800.

I dont think you'll find too many miles very often, but for comparison, my a4 camaro cost 10,500 with 65,500 miles on it and it is a 98. Thats less than 10,000 miles a year and it was a garage queen from some old guy. ws6s do come with a premium but DAMN, for almost twice as much miles?

i really want a ws6. i bought a 2000 silverado a couple of months ago because i thought i needed a truck. i have decided to hell with the truck, i want a ws6. i started to put some performance mods on the truck. i was going to make it fast, but for the same money i was going to put into a truck i could have a really nice ws6.

i wouldnt go for it unless it was a steal... steal as in less than 9 or 10k. so many more problems usually arise when that many miles are on a car...squeaks, rattles, alignment, ect. also interior and exterior...rock chips, dings dents, interior wear are just some of the problems.
not saying they are all like this. there are a few turbo ls1's out there that installed on 100k engines and are running fine. so take that as you will.
plenty of ws6's out there man. trust me, be patient. any idea how long it took to find a 40k mile SOM ws6 with a older male owner for 16k?
but its worth it. to big of a decision to say "man i wish i would have spent 4k more and got a medium mile ws6 in great condition instead".
goodluck.

Dude, that price is insane. My girlfriend just bought a Mustang with 19,000 miles on it today for 11,500. I got my SS with 17,000 miles on it for 21,000. There is no way in hell you should pay that much for a car with over 100k miles. I would HIGHLY recommend against buying any vehicle with over 100k miles period.

If a car is in great shape and well taken care of,you can get a pretty good bargain just because of the miles...
They are out there, just have to keep your eyes open, and your checkbook ready

my luck i would buy a high mileage car and half of it would break in the first year and id have to spend 5 or 6 thousand just to fix it.

When it comes down to it,its all a risk...Best bet is to check it out in person, and if needed, take it to a trusted mechanic (those two words don't belong together do they... ) if you don't know too much about cars. Not saying you do or don't...
Good luck!

i've seen the prices on these cars are high right now at the dealers....do a search in your area on auto trader and see what the average is...i was suprised my 99 was averaging over 15k at the dealers...
