Default TR230/224 with spray

I have heard this was not a good cam for the juice but I sprayed a 100 shot tonight for the first time and it did a 11.45 @122.21, 1.62 60' and spun hard off the line. I think it might do a 11.2 or 3. I was very pleased with this time. Now I would like to see what the 150 will do.
This is on stock heads with dual springs and full bolt-ons.

that's not a very good mph or et for that setup...not bashing...just my opinion...

if you can hookup better the et and mph will improve...it's a question of whether the setup or power is off from where it should be. setup correctly i would expect that car to run low to mid 10's in the neighborhood of 130mph...

I ran mid 10s with that cam in my SS Convertible. 3900 lb race weight. The 230/224 did great on a 150 shot for me. Honestly, most any cam is going to work fine on the spray if you run under a 200 shot. Once you exceed that, you'll want to get a more "nitrous friendly" cam.

Ya I think it could do a little better. It spun 5' and got side ways at the light then I hit the rev limiter in third for a sec. My et streets have about 55 passes on them. I think I'm about due for some new skins.
That and I did'nt ever mess with the QA1's, I was'nt thinking about that til the end of the night. Daaa.
If I could sqeeze a 10.7 or so out of it, I might not put these 5.3's and g5x2 in it this winter.. I could sell them and get my dough back out of it!!
But you know how that works.....Gotta have more once you get it.

That cam you have in there now, how would it react to the bottle??
Did you put that one in there recently? I thought the one you had was a tad bit smaller just a short while back.

My car dynoed 390 NA. I don't know about n2o, I have'nt dynoed it on the bottle.
I have a m6 with 4.11's and crossed the traps @ about 6400rpms.
How high should I set the rev limiter safely. I have crane dual springs BTW.

I have not sprayed the TRak cam that I have now. The CheaTR cam is one of the best nitrous cams out there.
215/230 .600/578 117LSA. It's made for the spray.

The TRak cam will work very well on the spray too, but it's biased more as a N/A cam.

I dunno. Low 10s and 130 mph is very optimistic for a midsized cam and no heads with just a 100 shot. I'd be surprised to see that combo go over 125 mph in the summer unless the car has significant weight reduction.

I don't really see it going 10's either unless it weighed 3200 lbs. But I'm not gutting my ride. I want all the bells and wistles. I could see it doing 11.0's under the right conditions.

Where do you base you oponion off of?
A full weight M6 with stock head spinning off the line running mid 11's with a 230/224 cam and a 100 shot is very good.
Low to mid 10's with this setup is not going to happen. Not even with the 150 shot. I think looking at some similar setups will show you he is in the right range is comparision to other M6's. Get some new slicks, launch harder and maybe will some great weather you could see a high 10 pass, but 11.2-11.5 is more typical.

You dont want to hit the limiter on the spray or bad things can happen.
I would have a Nitrous cut off pill set at 6600 and the rev limited at 6900/7000. You dont want to take it that high but it would be better to spin to 7000 on motor then it would be to hit the rev limiter in the juice.
This is based on the guess your shifting around 6500 RPM's.
now when you up to the 150 shot you might need to shift a bit higher.
The reason being is your MPH will pick up, and the car will be faster. You will go through the RPM's faster and with those gears and the 150 shot you will be turning some serious RPM's through the trap.
I would suggest going with a 28" tall ET street when you buy new tires and go to the 150 shot. That will reduce the gear ratio and you wont run out of gear at the end of track.
If this dosen't make since let me know and I will explain it the long way.

Thanks JZ. I think your right on the money with this. BTW, I did'nt hit the limiter on the spray, the off pill is 6200 and the limiter @ 6400. So it was off. I totally agree with setting the pill at 200 before the limiter.
I thought about 28" tires. But I don't want to have to grind the brakes for 15" rims.

Snake, the car is a 00 SS. Look under my real user name (JRracing24 and you'll see all my mods, it's pretty complete.

The 11.5" ET Streets that fit on 16" rims are a bit bigger in diameter than stock tires or the 10.5" ET Streets. They will give you the equivilent of another 200 - 300 rpm of headroom compared to the stock tire size.
