Whats The Rev. Limiter & Can It Be Tuned Out?
Curious on what the rev. limiter is supposed to be. I'm guessing it's around 6,000 rpm cuz thats about where it's cutting out. I had recently disconnected the battery and now this limiter seem to be in affect. Before I had disconnected the battery I don't ever remember there being a rev. limiter on my car. I was curious and wondering if there's any way that I can tune this out by myself without taking it to a shop and getting it tuned out. Thanks!!!

-edit- To answer the question. The rev limiter ceases the flow of fuel into the engine at a specified RPM in order to prohibit it from revving any higher than said RPM. It is a safety feature and should not be eliminated. The factory setting is 6200 RPM. The limiter can be raised to allow for the top end gains seen from mods such as a bigger cam etc, although some people raise it on stock / lightly modded cars. Some people set it up to and above seven grand but that's my personal limit. When I do raise it (I havent yet) I dont think I'll even go that far.

Rev limiter is not going to do **** for you on a missed shift. It prevents over-revving from your foot being on the gas too long but not a mechanical over-rev.
