how well do you think a stock lower end ls1 with 11.5-1 cr would take 8-9 pounds of boost on race gas

you guys are kidding right? with a fuel system to support it, even on stock timing it'll live with GOOD race fuel at 9 psi.

A common small displacement turbo trick is increased compression. Subies and the like run 10-11:1 in some cases with 20+#s of boost. Spool is much better, and off boost driveability is vastly improved.

Its all in the tune.

Now if you had an option, lower CR would be my choice, and crank up the boost

YOu have to get on the dyno to tune it. SO you have to run the motor to 6+k to get an idea on how to tune it. I think on the first pull it will have so much detonation that the motor will not be able to handle it. 11.5 cr is realy high for boost.

The LS2 engine has 11/1 compression and ATI's new C6 ProCharger is making boost just fine on 93 octane gas. With racing gas I think you'll be just fine with a good fat tune. Bob
