Default AFR 205's question

My current mods are in my sig and i am thinking of getting AFR 205's, just wondering what kind of gains hp/trq should i be looking at, and my car is a 98' with the shitty heads. Thanks for any help you got.

oh yeah the cam specs are 237/242, .603"/609", 113 LSA, and it currently has 375rwhp and 350rwtrq

With your current setup, AFR 205s (milled .030 and using a .045 Cometic Gasket) should gain you a solid 40 rwhp...maybe more. Just make sure you allow some time and funds for a follow-up tune.

he didnt state whether he would be willing to flycut though.

AFR205'S- i have them,milled to 59cc w/0.40 cometics. i gained 47hp from the heads and a x2 to the g5x3 cam. so the heads are worth a solid 40hp on their own.

I think people are just scared of the unknown and the job of fly-cutting, while time consuming, is really not that difficult with the right setup (which a few vendor's rent out). Edges are easily deburred and if anyone is passing on the job because of that it would be silly to say the least (Not that I doubt it stopped more than one individual due to the "rumors" and BS that tends to fly around the matrix.....)
