camshaft on stock heads !?
i have a 2002 camaro ss, A4, Mac Headers and Y pipe, SLP air lid, K&N air filter, Yank 3500 TC, Comp 918 Springs, Stock gear ratio
i am kinda lost between two camshaft:
1-thunder racing TR224 (224/224 .563/.563 114 LSA)
2- Comp (224/228 .581/588 114 LSA)
PS: the car is a daily driver

I say TR because I have a comp 216/220. My cam has a great power band but I think it needs more *****. The 224/228 wouldn't be bad, but the history of the TR224 is a good one and the searches on LS1tech will give you a lot of pros for that cam.

Just curious why you are going so conservative? I guess everyone has there own needs, and I'm guessing your worried about drivability. I too use my car as a daily driver but have a 224 on a 112 lsa. I little but more aggressive, more power and extremely streetable. Doesn't buck, sounds really good and turns the heads. With only a lid and cat-back exhaust with this cam I put down 374rwhp. NO headers-etc. I think that is pretty good. I love this cam and just think you should broaden your thoughts and consider going just a little bugger. I PROMISE YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!

my friend had a comp cam and it ate up his cam bearings. the only answer comp cams had for that was they make the part where it rides on the bearing a little bit bigger than stock. tr 224 has my vote

I'd opt for the TR224 for two reasons. One, it's a proven cam that makes pretty good power and two, it will be easier on the valve springs (918's) and with the car being your daily driver, I would assume that would be a concern to you.

I'd get the f-13. It's been proven to outpower the tr224. It's the all around best cam IMO. The tr224 is a VERY good cam as well, and is the "typical" cam. If you are going to get a cam and know nothing you get the tr224. However that is fastly turning into the f-13 since that is what everyone is going with. I've yet to see a tr 224 make 475rwhp on a heads/cam 346. The f-13 on the other hand

How would the TR224 compare to something with a 228/228? Recently did an '02 Z06 cam, as I had "warranty" concerns, but they've lessened considerably since then. Been looking for options for my daily driver to pull some better numbers and push my closer to 400rwhp (361 right now).

On a "crappy" tune I made the numbers in my sig in an A4 with 91 octane, 98 heads, a huge heavy *** stall (the "extreme" part is hurting me atm until i get boost lol), and 2.73's (which can be easily argued will cause a lower reading because of the inertia and speed factors (like 120-130mph i think it was) to get the car to hit the rev limit on the dyno).
If my cam was on a 112 i would probably see another 5hp peak as well. All in all I think I am doing quite well with this cam. It has a broad powerband with no drawbacks on driveability. I drive my car everyday on the mean streets of LA with traffic, **** for roads, mountains, etc. I have no problems at all even with the mismatch b/w my convertor and gears. So I do drive a "street" car.
If anything either cam will be within 10hp peak of each other anyways, but I do believe that the F10 will make more average power.
My 2 cents.

tr224 kicks its butt through 95% of the rpm cycle. It did it before the heads too. The fm13 shines above 5800rpms, before that the tr224 owns it.
