what shift points should I race?
What RPM’s should I shift at while racing to get the most power outta each gear on an M6?Which RPMS correspond with the following gears? ALso If Im going like 70 and I want to launch off that speed on the highway what gear should I down shift to?

You ask good questions...you can answer most of them yourself. I'm stock internals, 3.42 M6- have my shift light set at 5800 rpm.
Go out and run it thru the gears. Take note of your speed, in each gear - at your shift point. Write it down if you have to. Memorize it. Fast forward... your rolling down the hiway at 70 mph, and want to run it....give it some gas as you push in your clutch (rev matching), bang 3rd gear... and be gone with your bad self!
From a roll, this is my ballpark rule of thumb:
1st- 0 -35
2nd 35-55
3rd 55-90
4th 90-120
5th 120+
6th don't use for racing

70 mph, 3rd is low. Is it too low ? I define "too low" as being- if you drop to a gear and your RPM goes above your redline/shiftpoint. Stock internals, 70mph,3.42, M6- it won't be above your redline/shiftpoint. 2nd gear would be "too low". Disagree ? Prove it! Go run your car thru the gears and look at your speed + RPM when you shift at redline. We are talking about racing , not a leisurly cruise. At 70 mph - sure, you could shift to 4th or 5th - to pass a woody station wagon, but it would be a handicap in a "race".
If both our cars were equal, doing 70mph down the hiway: we both hit it the same time: you drop to 4th, I drop to 3rd - you will see my tailights. Look at at some dyno sheets if you don't understand why.
Hope this helps!

I went into 3rd all the time at 70, it will "hit" in the rear if you don't rev match as mentioned earlier, and will bark the tires, but 3rd will get you moving. I would do like mrbobo said, and go out and memorize the prm range for each gear.

Im sorry im not understanding i go out and memorize what shift point? well i always shift at around 5100 for 1st and 2nd and probably 4800 for 3rd...i dunno...like if im going 70 and i put the clutch it itl drop to 1000 RPMs then I give it gas with the clutch in to lets say around 4700 RPM then slowly let off the clutch....?...thats double clutching and i though that you didnt have to do that with our cars becuase of synchronizers..?**** im lost...sorry guys.lol.....thanks for being patient with me..

If I roll race from 70, I stick it in 3rd, it will be revving high but not tooo bad, 3 honks and the stangs and ricers see the taillights. Simple as that.... It's not that bad, remember the LS1 likes to rev high, that's were the legendary LS1 top end comes into play. It makes it's peak power higher in the rpm band, peak torque is up there also.
