Default Just bought a Z28 LS1

It took me a few weeks to find an LS1 that was cheap and not too beat up. It's a 1998 Black A4 Z28. I am third owner. Last owner did a few mods:
SLP Lid, MAF, loudmouth (very loud!).
Window tint and white colored turn lenses up front.
79,000 miles
Free set of grey ZR-1 wheels also and a stage 2 chip that was not installed. All removed stock parts too.

I will post pics once the fog goes away.

Welcome to LS1tech...Now be preparred for spending all of your hard earned cash

This is a great site with a super bunch of people. Use the search function on the site. It will help you learn a ton of information rather than repeating things that have been beat to death. When you can't find your answers there, folks from the board have a wealth of knowledge. Support the sponsors, they help us out tremendously.....and take a look at the 06 calender. I just got mine on Friday (and had to explain it to the wife on Saturday.)

Good Luck and have fun,

Kev

That's what the guy called it. I'm looking at it now...It says JET Programmable PCM. It piggybacks onto the stock PCM so he said and eliminates 4th gear. I don't know if I should install it.

Lets see some pics...
I drove about 5 or so cars in the last few weeks. First one was a 98Z with 149,000 miles owned by a 40 something female. She took good care of it but it drove so loud I thought there was something wrong with the tires/wheels/suspension. Could not have conversation above 35mph. She said it was brand new Fuzions causing the noise. I waited a day and someone beat me to it for $6000.
I drove a few 98-2000 A4 and M6 models at different dealerships but they all seemed worn out or overpriced. I missed out on a few $8-9k cars by only a day. I was about to give up looking when this car popped up. I saw it the next day and was suprised at the good condition. I know it was run hard but it runs better than the other cars I tried.
I only paid $7,000 for it and I could not find any others below $9,000.
I will post pics soon.

Congrats on your new car!
About the chip thing.....Our cars computers don't have a replaceable chip, so folks kind of wince when a newbie says "chip". I see the Jet adds in car mags, they well may have a plug in "piggyback" system for our cars, dunno.
If you try it out, let us know how it does.
Welcome to the LSx club!
