I have a 224/224 112, and it sounded pretty lopey with a Loudmouth exhaust. I switched to a Hooker cat back and you can barely tell I have a cam. My point is that your exhaust system has a large say in how loud/lopey your cam will sound.

i was going to put headers on and leave the stock catback except for a cutout before the axle but i have no problem leaving it closed. and also is there any point to put headers on and leave the stock catback

Yeah, you'll make more power with headers, even with the stock exhaust.

With that cam u cant tell the car has anything done to it. The only way you can tell it is there is if you have LT's and u stick your head under the hood.

I installed LT's Shaner2 and GT2-3 and gained 50rwhp over stock in an A4

I've heard Thunder Racing's Cheater cam through some long tubes, an OR Y-pipe and a Magnaflow, and it didn't really lope to much more than stock. High spinning cam too.
I might consider it for mine.

It is because the LSA is a little higher I believe. But so is that old man camshaft that Thunder offers as well. You should check into those 2 for sure.

Thunder racings cheater cam is close to one of the biggest cams you can get and tune it so that it doesnt have any lope and still sounds stock

I think the LS6 (02+) cam is a pretty good cam and you can probably find one pretty cheap.

there is no lope at all. if you don't have headers you can pick up around 30 rwhp.

You will leave power on the table with the stock catback. Check out my sig. A catback is the only thing I'm lacking. Of course the car is very docile and you could probably sneak up a few people especially with one of the cams mentioned in this thread.

You can hide the lope of a 220/220 114 with a 850 rpm idle and a stock exhaust. With a 900 rpm idle you could hide a 224/224 115 cam.
