Default IAT relocate to EGR location. How?

I bought a new IAT sensor and harness. I know which MAF wires to cut and connect to the harness. I want to put the IAT sensor in the spot where my EGR tube is now becaue i'm planning on deleting egr and air anyway. How do I get the sensor to stay in the hole? will it just screw in there? I read something about using a pcv grommet or something?

here's how i was gonna do mine, but i dont know what the truck intake looks like.
get a metal or aluminum egr block off plate,(i've seen them on ebay) drill and tap a 3/8 18 npt on the block off plate, screw it on the intake, then screw on the iat sensor.
it should work for you too.
good luck

done. the friggin drill bit i bought was for a 1/2 drill, which i don't have. I already had a smaller hole in the whipple elbow, so, i hand drilled the hole bigger. yup, just hooked some vice grips up to the bit and kept turning till it was all the way through. lol. then i tapped the hole and i was done. easy install. I've never tapped a hole before. Let the jokes begin.

Where are you injecting the methanol at? If you get unevaporated droplets on the IAT sensor, it will give false (colder) readings.

the meth sprays just after the blower, the iat is about 6 inches away on the whipple elbow which is connected the the intake manifold. The other option was to put it where the egr is now, but, i already had a hole in the elbow and haven't removed my egr yet cause i can't figure out how to. I was kinda worried about the meth throwing off the iat, but, leaving it before the blower is just silly. There's only a few inches between the blower oulet and the intake manifold so the options are slim. Other truck guys have done the same setup with good results.

greentahoe, i don't quite understand what you are asking me. I used the same iat sensor as everyone else on performancetrucks. I think it's out of a 96 buick or something like that. It has a 3/8"npt end on it.
