Default Anyone ever use 5.3l truck manifolds?

Considering doing a turbo build up but dont like the price of the turbo headers. Just wondering if anyone has ever used a pair of 5.3L truck manifolds upside down and backwards. or would this put to much heat too close to the hood?

you can put them backwards
but you cant put them upside down, they will not clear the shock towers
do a search on 6.0 manafolds, or truck manafolds in this section, plenty of threads on the subject

If you put them on backwards wont they interfere with the spark plugs? I mean the plugs come out of the heads a an angle sweeping back towards the fire wall right?

Just sold a set to Spanky LS1 for his project. Seems to be popular.

The heads are the same I believe and one side angles forward and the other side backward. There is enough clearance

The 5.3 manifolds are the same as the 6.0 manifolds. They share the same part numbers, at least the 2004-2005 ones are.

I got a set of 2005 5.3 manifolds, and they are beefy, and you can tell that they would flow EXTREMELY well for a manifold.

The white Stenod car runs 5.3 manifiolds and runs 8.80s FYI.
