F1 Procharger?

F1 or F1R Procharger?
Interested in installing a Procharger F1 - F1R anybody running these superchargers - how loud are they .
And is there a way to quiet them down,
Can Procharger tighten the gear lash to make a supercharger quiet , like i heard they can?
Looking to build a street forged 347 LS1 with ported heads and street cam.
I love the Procharger set up , but i would like a quiet supercharger .

I am running the F1 on my 408. I really can barely hear it from inside the car. I am running true duals with an X-pipe and two chamber Flowmasters.
The only downside is you have to find some way to run a filter on it. I notched out the bottom of my radiator support and got the inlet hat from a D1 to fit in there.

I am building a forged 347 , ported Ls1 heads , 210-228 blower cam,
Street car , i want to be able to run 15 PSI, and maybe more in the future.
So i dont want to buy a supercharger that is too small and cant make at least 15 PSI,
I heard to go right for the F1.
Why do you have to cut under the car , why the problem with the air filter fitting?
Is the F1 supercharger that much bigger ?

Someone was running F1-R here somewhere, but he had to run a different radiator so he can fit a filter on the F1-R.
If u want more than 15psi then just go with the F1-R since its $300-400 more, but it flow almost 500CFM more. At the end u will have to do some work to fit a filter on either the F1 or F1-R.

You can quiet the charger by making muffler for it. You just need some plastic tubing, some type of grill to muffle the sound. My mechanic put one on my car, but then I had him take it off because I love the sound of the supercharger. Give him a call @ 510-SYNERGY. Ask for Rick. Hope this helps quiet down the F1.

the muffler was for the open bypass, not the blower itself.
to quiet down the blower ask ATI for a quiet one and use a spring tensioner instead of the crappy solid one ATI provides. It mellows out the sound quite a bit.

I've done some preliminary research on it and seems like everyone that has done it has moved the radiator forward about 3inches to make it fit with the airfilter.
The F1 will fit easier, as it's not too much bigger than the D1. However, the F1R is even larger and cannot use the same brackets as the D1.
If your staying with a 346, I don't see why the D1sc couldn't run 14-15lbs of boost. If you're running bigger cubes, like a 408+, then to get 15+lbs, you'd need the F series.

The D-1SC superchargers are pretty quiet once you get approx 500 miles on them. The sound from a P-1SC and a D-1SC isn't so loud that it will bother you, but they do emit a blowerr whine, although it isn't as loud as a top mount style of supercharger. There is no way that I see that you are going to make one totally quiet, but it isn't going to annoy you. A D-1SC has plenty in it to get you car into the nines in the 1/4 mile. Give me a call, I can get you a great price. Bob

I had the first F1 on an ls1 then i went to the F1r. THe f1r uses the same case at the F1 just different impeller. I would say go with the F1. I didnt run a filter at all but then again I was racing it only....
