humor me, material questions...
what materials would be best...
stainless steel choices..
304L, 321, 347...
Mild steel...
4130 cold rolled or A36 Hot rolled
What thickness would be optimal for sealing for header flanges, as well as turbo flanges...3/8th, or 1/2in
No reason really, I just like knowing stuff like this.
Any and all input appreciated.

Most headers that are made out of mildsteel just use regular mild tubing that I have seen. My fabricator is using regular mild steel tubing, he got from burns stainless.
and the stainless ones I have seen are either 304 or 321 however the welding is a bit different on that. you ahve to have a full MIG setup and the wire is expensive from what Ive herd
