What do I need to swap to TH400?
Just wondering something, I'm looking into getting a TH400 and wondering what all I'm gonna have to buy extra to get the tranny to fit and function properly (brackets, cables, wiring, etc.)? I tried searching but just keep coming up with bits and pieces. I would be switching from a 4L60E.
Thanks

You can use the M6 X Member?
BMR Xmember with TA Relocation $220
Shifter, ratchet type w/ cable $180
ATI or TCI Flexplate $180
TC, take your pick.............$200-$1200
Speedo adapter, I had Carl Rossler send me a 9" tailshaft with the correct bosses welded in for the TH350 conversion $200 and reluctor wheel since I didnt pull it off the 4L60E $20.
Transmission, again its up to your goal/budget $700-$3500
Trans Cooler, ditto $80-$300+
Only bummer about swapping for me was losing the exhaust hanger mounted off the tailshaft...but I am sure I will get over that once the new exhaust is hung

You can use the M6 crossmember, but you need to put about 1" worth of large washers in between the crossmemer and trans mount. I wouldn't recommend it as mine was originally done like that and the bolt fell off without me even realizing it. Just buy a Yank or BMR TH400 crossmember and do it right the first time. Some have reported issues with them not fitting right, but my Yank fit in perfectly.

There is a sticky at the top of this section and it has everything you can ask for. Try it out first, then ask if you can't find anything more specific.

You can use the stock shifter and the stock fly wheel!!!!! It has to be a 98 flywheel!! the stock A-4 shifter will work and you can use a lockout plate to keep it from going from 1st to 3rd. ATI is by far the best convertor!!! 9"!!!! go short tail and the stock D/S will work also. Lockar can make a flexable dipstick. (36" is pleanty). I went with the BMR cross member and a sphon tq arm. That is how i did my swap and it works!!! The speedo works also. Just bought the pig tail and spliced the wires together.

Thanks guys, getting a lot more info here. Was wanting to keep as much stuff as I could without replacing everything, but what i do replace I'm gonna replace with quality stuff. More pricing for me to do.
