Default Hole in ss hood

Well my lid is hitting my hood and rubbing a hole in it! I have tried everything I know to fix this. Any ideas? 2000 ss, what apears to be a z06 maf, smooth bellows, lid looks like it use to say ls1 on it.

its really common for the lids to rub, you have to make sure the lip of the lid is behind the lower air box part in front. if it is sitting over lip in the front it will make it not seal and sit too high making it rub. i had the same problem on my old 2000 ss

Look at how the radiator support sits (the larger plate that the air filter housing sitson and holds the top of the radiator). Make sure everything is down as snug as possible. Worst case, get the Donaldson unit fron SLP, it sits flatter.

mine does it too. welcome to the club. i have yet to see a real solution for it. its a plastic lid in front of a lot of torque, its bound to move, esp if u have an aftermarket bellows kit.

The radiator support is on correctly. At this point the only thing I can come up with is to get a different brand lid, or try the volant. Thanks for all of the input.

adjust the height of the rubber bushings on the hood might give toy just enough clearance, hood might stick up just a hair though. my mti carbonfiber fits fine on an 02 z28, good luck

My Whisper lid has no trouble to speak of. Now that I know about this it will probably start to rub.

You would think the lid companys would have done a little more fitting?
