Default My new Incon TT exhaust set-up.

Too much cold weather time. Original Incon down pipes to Flowmaster y to Borla 3"int pipe to Borla muffler to SLP tips. Mucho hours tweeking by me to fit....and all coated inside/out by MR Coatings.

Had a Borla y pipe and the y merge is a horrible design ( necks down to 2.6").

Flowmaster is a great y merge....be curious to see if it's worth any power.

Thanks. If you knew what you're doing I'd guess you could mock it up in 3 hours......took me a lot longer...lol..

Hardest part is getting the y merge to clear the Spohn TA Mount that uses(replaces) the same location as the flimsy stock center brace.

Looks nice!

Thats the same setup I'm running on my Incon, sept with the ugly borla tips and a pair of elect. exhaust dumps behind the turbos.

Have you ever tested the dumps open vs the dumps closed without a restrictor plate in the Borla?

Thanks again!

Don’t put the restrictor plate in the Borla; it’s for backpressure on the stock motor. The turbos make enough backpressure by themselves.

I'm sure it makes more power with the dumps open but I haven't run them at the track or on the dyno yet. Feels like it though! I always heard that turbos like being run wide open. Cablebandit has a set that opens automatically with boost and I'm sure it helps him do 9's.
That’s also why the Borla is a grate exhaust for this kit, when you get on it; it acts like a straight pipe and bypasses the muffler.

Its fun cracking the cutouts a bit, you can here the whistle of the turbos twice as good. Mine do leek a bit on the drivers side when shut, that kinda sucks but...I always run with them at least part way open.

Running through the gears with them wide open, to me, is the best sound I have ever heard in my life.
Also when a civic with a farter exhaust gets near its fun to hit him with some real American music.

I ran at 10psi last year. Around 570rwhp . Ran 10.71 at 128mph at 3805lbs race weight. Hopefully, with a better fuel system and more boost I'll beat that this year. Not spraying anything.

I'd love to see the ricer's face when you crack the cutouts!

Reading this thread is making me more antsy about getting my incon kit back.

I can't wait to install it.

Onfire, did you coat the manifolds and turbos? Where did you get it done if you did? Jethot?

Ls1 heads are ported, LPE GT7 cam....and wasted money on 428 cubes....GT28 turbos max out at 1100cfm on 346 cubes. 428 was a waste of $ unless somebody comes out with a super small super flowing turbo that doesn't exist. GT3071R is the largest that will fit on the Incon system and isn't worth the money to upgrade. GT35r in some kind of a hybrid deal would be nice.

Wow 428 cubes....I know LPE does some of there 427's with an Incon like setup. Don’t know what turbo's they use.

Seems like it should be making more at 10psi.
I’m doing that with 8.5lbs. on a stock short block
Was yours on a mustang dyno?

**** the 428 should do 500rw on its own.

The incon kits good for 9's, one of the tech boys did 9's with his and a stock shortblock in a convert TA a few years ago. That same old kit is still doing 9's and it’s in another full weight TA convert. I don’t think he has even rebuilt the turbos yet.

LPE uses the same GT28r turbo on all their kits 550, 650 and 725 with the 427 engine. They do a $$$$$ custom GT3071R.

I was on a Dynojet through a turbo400 transmission.

Nice looking system. My car still has the original offroad incon y which was grafted on to the back part of a borla system. It's all stainless but doesn't look anywhere near as nice as that
