Ram air hood/intake
Ok so I bought a FFI Double Vission hood (looks exactly like a WS6 hood but its for a camaro) It has functional ram air scoops that exit right above the stock lid. My question is: what is the best intake for my setup, I was looking at these:
K&N
Think they're volants, not really sure though, any ideas?

I just got my fipk with Ram Air H. O. hood(not installed yet) i like it but i don think its worth the $ that i paid for it. But out of the three i would still go with the fipk.

I would get the exact measurements if you choose the Volant. Maybe someone who has one can give you the height measurement and you could fab up a cardboard skeleton and see what kind of deformation/contact you get.

i dont think either of those intake are goin to create a "ram air" effect on your car, if that is what u are looking for... i thought there was a setup on the ws-6's that flipped the lid + air filter so it was facing up, where the openings for the ram air hood came in, that would prolly be the most effective option if its around.

none create a ram air affect.. you either need a ram air hood, or ssra.. however both work better with ram air than the fipk because the volant has a box type effect that focuses all the air into the filter where as with a RA on fipk, it can scatter throughout the engine compt... but trust me, if you have a camaro, you want the top, thats the one designed for it

Not sure if they make one for camaros but it is the Suncoast Ram Air and im sure it probably only works on their hoods

I was thinking about the volant but I got the fipk for the same type of hood. It comes with a smooth bellows too which is kinda nice (I know,I know)
The thing I didnt like about the volant is, if you look at the hole in the back wall of the box this is where your IAT sensor goes. It is exposed to whatever is flying through your hoodscoops. WIth the FIPK the sensor goes inside the filter itself. It doesnt seem like a good idea to me to have the sensor exposed as it is in the volant. I dont think either will achieve any measureable ram air effect as stated before but at least you're getting cold air directly to your filter.
