Default Control timing with Delteq

Sorry if this has been brought out before but Im gettin mixed results when finding topics on this and hard to find a good solid post about using som sort of MSD box or somethign to control (advance or retard) timing.

I plan on spryain a 125 or a 150 shot soon and atleast want to mess with the timing so I dont go BOOM! so fast lol....

so What kinda systems coudl I look at to control my ignition for timing?

Thanx in advance - GArth

MSD DIS-4 but you will have to buy 4 interface modules also made by MSD. I can find a PN for you later if you like.

I amgoing to run the MSD +4 here as well. The modules run like $30 a piece. I have used the +2 on a V6 and the difference in performance and all around running was great! They are very flexible systems.

Do NA timing in the computer ONLY use aftermarket boxes to retard it for nitrous not to advance it. make sure you get someting with a rev limiter and window switches too.

These are the modules http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
The DIS-4 has timing retard and a rev limiter and I also use an MSD window switch for activation and shut down.

In the process doing this myself. It's not cheap I tell you. Don't know why exactly why you can't use the Delteq coils and having to use these instead. MSD coil

Yeah those go between the coils and the module. Basically all the module will do is provide the volatage for the coils. You can use Delteq coils but MSD ones work better.

I was not aware that MSD made two terminal coils for this setup?

I'm in the process of doing this to my Delteq setup right now. I have everything except the MSD DIS 4, which I will have shortly

Parts needed:
1. MSD DIS4 #62152
2. MSD 8870 (need 4) coil interface modules
3. MSD 8912 (need 2) tach interface (you could take the white lead,PCM)
4. MSD 8224 (need 4) worth the upgrade, but you don't have to use the MSD

This setup will cost quite a bit over the price of the DELTEQ setup, but you will be happy
