Do I have everything I need for a hot cam swap?
Hey guys can you make sure I'm ordering all the right parts for a hotcam swap?
Im ordering the kit from gmparts direct part # 12480002
I'm also ordering a new timing chain part # 10128485
(Do I just need the chain or do I need new sprockets as well?)
And then I'm going to go to autozone and get some felpro gaskets.
Anything else I need?
Also in the description on gmpartsdirect.com it says "This kit does not include roller tappets. See valve lifter section 0.459 for the lifter kit."
Could anyone clue me in as to what that means?
Thanks!

maybe, maybe not. you'll find out when you get in there. you'll see what your lifters, pushrods, cam bearings, and other parts look like.
pushrods are cheap so there's no reason not to replace them.
the front cam bearing may not look very good and you may want to replace cam bearings. or you may drive it 500 miles after the swap and spin a rod/main bearing.
not trying to scare you or talk you out of it, but projects always cost more and take longer than you expect, so it's good to figure in some leeway. i think it's always nicer to replace parts while you're already in there, than having it screw up and changing them (or possibly more) not too far down the road.

Depending on how many miles you have on your car, you might want to replace the lifters. Stockers re-placements will work fine, and cost less the $200. Might want to upgrade your pushrods to hardened.
Its easier to do it right the first time then have to go in a do it over like someone I know (Looks in the mirror) lol
