Someone told me that when they did this, they felt more gains from this than an UD pulley. This guy still pulls 1.6s no problem. Definitely faster from a roll.

I have one and love it. Do a search, everyone that has one, loves it. You wont be able to find a bad thing said by the people WHO ACUALLY HAVE ONE.

i'm also wondering this myself, im in the process of rebuilding my t56, replacing my clutch and TO bearings, and strengthening my rear, i've wondered that just because my drivetrain is going to be torn apart, whether i should spend the extra $$ and get a lightened flywheel. BTW anyone know what the stock 97 LT1 flywheels weigh?

ok, so i've read about every thread that the search found...and now more questions...apparently the aluminum needs a friction surface...is this usually sold seperately? also, will the entire assembly need to be balanced? Who balances this stuff? i have to do this within the next few days due to my car being what i drive to work every day, and the hydraulics just crapped out, so i could be stranded at anytime now with my clutch stuck to my flywheel!

It comes with the friction surface already attatched, you only need to buy a new one when you replace the clutch, instead of getting the flywheel resurfaced. The flywheel is billit so the chances of it being out of balance are slim, but some still like to get it balanced as a whole (clutch and fly).
