What block w/forged internals
Dont really know too much about FI and blocks and stuff. I was wondering what block would you guys recommend for a mainly street/occasional strip setup. I know 408's are expensive. If you wanted something a step or 2 down from a 408, what block would you go with. Preferrably cheaper than a 408. Ultimate goals would start @ around 450-550rwhp, but would eventually want 650 plus? I just playing with ideas, and my ignorance doesnt allow me much room for thinking, so im just wanting suggestions and feedback. Also, what is the most hp you think I would see w/o methanol and using 93 octane?

I decided to go with a stock block on mine, could always put a stroker crank in it to get to 370/383, but with this setup I'll be able to turn the boost up and still obtain the numbers/performance I'm looking for 600+rwhp. If you want to eventually go big, I would go with an LS2 or cast 6.0L block. You can run massive boost and get that extra displacement if you go that route.
It really depends on the compression and tune you plan to run as far as "hp" without methanol. You can make a stock block live at well over 700rwhp, but if you tune it incorrectly or run too much boost without enough fuel, etc you can split a block instantly. Honestly, I would stick with a stock block if you're looking for those numbers. You can always add meth later for 650+ rwhp. Just my .02

I have 92k on my motor. Would you suggest me buy a new block? Or could I forge what I have. Also, what would be the price for a forged stock block, and what would it cost to forge my existing block?

when people say they have a forged motor they are talking about the componants in the motor aka the pistons, rods, crank and so forth...the block it self is usally just honed, (basicly they smooth out the cylinders and make it slightly wider when they hone a block) for most motors nothing is actualy done to the block itself. occasionaly you will see someone say that they got their block resleeved, that is when they take out he sleeves that are in the cylinder and replace them with a stonger alloy sleeve.
