Default Anyone mounted a 5lb here?

I searched and came up with nothing. Has anyone mounted a 5 lb bottle in here?

I was thinking of making a false enclosure with grill and all and mounting a 5lb bottle there. I took some quick measurements, and it should fit. Curious if anyone had any pics if they had done it.

im sure he knows but i beleive his intention is too deceive the unsuspecting rival... id mount the 5lb bottle under the front headlamp/front bumper area.... less lines to run.

I don't think it would be possible to conceal it there though.

you could also place it where the air pump is, or was in a z, should definatley fit underthere, and if the bottle is black, it should be well hidden. Mine is in the spare tire well.

^^^ You think a 5 lb bottle would realy fit there? Is that common? I know most people have a 10 in the spare tire well or on the hump in the back seat. I just thought it would be a good place to conceal it behind a fake speaker enclosure.

Yes, that is where I hid my bottle. Yes, I hid it behind a fake speaker. It's ok, but it's only 5lbs of nitrous. I have pics without the speaker... I'll see if I can remote into my PC at home.

I'd like to see the pics! Also, how big of a shot are you running, and how many do you get out of that 5 lb bottle??

Honestly I can't find my pics... I'll take some now.

edit: Right now, no brackets hold the bottle in place... only the tight, tight fit. If I don't get the angle on the bottle opener just right, it pushes up on the plastic panel a bit. I've never had it fall out on me, though I've never tried Auto-Xing with it either. The bottle heater is the one NX sells for 10 and 15lb bottles, but the straps were shortened a little. The heater doesn't touch anything except the bottle. I haven't installed the blow-down tube yet(probably going to be a -8AN hose), but that shouldn't be a problem. I also had to ditch the 16' line from NX and get 20' from NOS... Hey, it was $50 cheaper!

I'm planning on running a 75-125 dry shot on this. It'll be a supplement to my 300 direct port, or in some cases, a cheater shot. I haven't done the dry yet; however, it used to feed my 175 wet shot on the Maximizer (44% on at 2750/3000 rpm progressing to 88% at 3500 rpm, shut down at 5900 rpm using 200 jets: NX's 76n & 44f I think) I probably got about 4-5 good runs out of it plus a quick purge for every run with the bottle at 1000+ psi each, except sometimes run #5 would have 900 and die hard on me. All runs were on the street. At the track I normally tempted fate with 200 and 250 shots.

You should mount it behind the plastic panel behind the left rear tire. I was going to mount mine there then I went direct port and stopped caring about hiding it. Good luck

What plastic panel? I wasn't aware of any plastic around our rear tires.

it's the area directly behind the fuel fill nozzle.

Good luck getting a 5lber in there. 2.5lbs is more realistic however.

It'll fit, I just never fabbed up brackets to mount it behind there.
