Don't have an F-Body, but if it is flat and rest on top of something, try some double sided sticky tape, I used 3M Molding tape, availible in the auto body body section of most parts stores and WalMart.

Mine didn't fit well at all, i ended up pulling the switches out of it and throwing the plate away and making my own place for the switches.

What about trimming it up and then fitting some velcro strips to it? I have done it several time with those types of panels. You have to trim up the velcro but it makes future removal a breeze.

I made my own plate as well, and 3m tape worked great to hold her down, 2 years strong.
