Default Would it work

Do you guys think an exhaust shop could make a borla catback fit on a 96 trans am without changing the sound?

If you mean keep the stock sound then no, because borla is alot more free flowing then the stock cat back. You can just get a cutout if you want to keep the stock sound. just open it when you want the extra power.

Why would you want a quiet Borla ? Just buy the tips and fake it.

no, i want the borla sound. But I've been told that my 96 t/a requires a different catback than a 94. The one I am buying is a 94 and I wanted to know if an exhaust shop could make the one off of the 94 fit my 96 without changing the sound of the borla.

first, there is a difference b/w ur car and the '94 b/c urs has 2 cats with the obdII system, but the exhaust should still bolt right up... and if it doesn't, the only thing that would need done is a little bit of the pipe chopped off the catalytic converter end of the Borla mid-pipe... i think
