Thumbs up MS3 Cam Only: 424HP & 389TQ

My cam & bolt ons only car made 424HP & 389TQ (STD) nearly untuned!

The car: 1998 Camaro SS, M6 car

The mods: Texas Speed Magic Stick (MS3) 237/242, .603"/.609" 113LSA
Fast 90mm Intake (De-ridged by Jonathan@Tick Performance)
Nick Williams 90mm Throttle Body
STOCK 1998 HEADS
Coated Pacesetter Headers into TSP True Duals
Powerbond Underdrive Pulley
!cats, !EGR, !AIR, !PCV
SLP lid, smooth bellows, descreened stock MAF

Car was dyno'd with 275/40/17 MT Drag Radials and a stock 10 bolt w/ 3.42s. It was previously tuned with the headers/cam, but now with the new stuff the driveability is terrible and it is leaning out badly in the mid-RPMs. I'll post the graph tonite.

The car is getting a Moser 9" with 4.11s and a tune as we speak - I'll post the updated numbers in a new thread.

would you mind posting SAE as they are generally more accepted.

Thanks
Bill

I would, but I didn't get the corrected numbers. This was done at our site's dyno day this past weekend. I'll make sure to post SAE after the car is tuned.

They should be able to convert it to SAE still.
Interested to see the numbers after the rear and gear change.

I was there, I made 438/401, and my SAE numbers were 430/393, so you can kinda figure it out from there. Joey, that's probably the highest TQ I have seen that cam make man, get that bad boy tuned, and let's see what it can put out

I'll check with them for the SAE numbers.

Ben - thanks! Your car was the king LS1 there that day. One of the best looking, too!

Basically my only changes were the Fast90/90 setup, the pulley, and a few other misc things that likely wouldn't effect dyno numbers (tensioner, rod bolts, !pcv, etc). The last dyno was on street tires, as well. You can see the thread here.

thanks man, if you car isn't tuned well, you still got a ways to go, and could pass me with the right tune in there. I would get it tuned and dynoed again before the rear end...see what ya can make cam only!

I think the correction factor was about 2% going to SAE so that would put you at 415.5 rwhp and 381.2 rwtq. I am glad to see your numbers went up for what they were previously. I would get it tuned and redyno before the rear and see what kinda power you lose after the rear, that would be cool to know.

The air fuel was real damn lean in the mid range but at peak power got back inline to where it should be. I'd like to see what the timing values are set at, if they are like the rest I have seen with similar tunes, I am sure there is another 10 hp left in it.

Awesome #'s man & I agree with Ben it must be one of the highest or might be the highest rwtq i've seen from MS3 esp. untuned

As WS6FirebirdTA00 mentioned with SAE correction Factor would be 415.5 rwhp and 381.2 rwtq & that sounds damn good buddy

Keep us posted man !!

peace

Joey, if you let me know where you posted the graph I will look at Ben's numbers to let you know if the correction factors are the same, or you can just call Dan

Great numbers. I would like to see someone do a car with cam and intake like yours and then put some cnc aftermarket heads on it with no other changes and see the power difference.
